Teriyaki Burgers

by Brittany on July 9, 2008

This is one of Mom’s recipes…and it is delicious! These burgers are so juicy and flavorful, you really don’t need to add much. Just a fat slice of tomato and some lettuce and you’re ready to go! However, my husband (a true cheese lover) had a slice of Swiss on his burger and loved it so that is definitely an option!

2 lbs ground beef (or combo of lean ground beef and pork)
1/2 c bread crumbs
1/2 large onion, finely diced
1/2 c soy sauce
1/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 egg

Mix the ground beef, bread crumbs and onion. Mix together the remaining ingredients then add to meat mixture. Form into patties and grill over medium heat until cooked through. Serve on sesame buns.

MMM–I just love these–and I am usually not a big fan of hamburger. I like to add a slice of swiss cheese–yum!!

I have loved everything that I have tried on your site. Thanks for sharing your recipes! My husband’s family also makes teriyaki burgers and we add a slice of grilled pineapple on top of the burger. I usually just use canned pineapple rings and put them on the grill for a few minutes. It makes the burger so yummy!

AS you know I have made this recipe for years – I am going to try “Kristy’” idea of serving with a slice of pineapple, although I bet a thin slice of grilled fresh pineapple would be fabulous on this, don’t you think? MOM
