Mmm… banana cream pie! Doesn’t that sound delicious? It is. I made this at my husband’s request for Thanksgiving, then again last night when I had my grandparents and cousin over for dinner. The second time, it was just as tasty! We had Chicken Parmesan (the lowfat version), salad, and fresh french bread. A low prep dinner in line with current holiday craziness.

Yum! Brad would love this! I will make it for him over the holidays!
Oh this is SO good. The homemade pudding filling is wonderful. Thanks for the recipe!
I am so delighted to find a recipe with from-scratch pudding. This is a keeper!
Mindy- I have never seen a baked banana cream pie- I just wanted to make sure I was reading that correctly. My husbands favorite- so I am making for Christmas dinner, but wanted to be clear. Thank You
Hi Lindsay,
Yes, you do bake it! I don't really know why you bake it, but I do it and it sets up perfect. So I just keep doing it. :) Good luck!

Just tried this last week, it was SO good, and I am NOT a banana cream pie fan!
DELISH!! This was my first attempt at banana cream pie from scratch and I could not be more pleased! I actually added about 1/2 cup mashed/pureed bananas to the custard and the intensified banana flavor was out of this world!
