I made my favorite sloppy joes for our camping trip to Mirror Lake this past month. Not super fancy I know, but these are tasty! This recipe from my friend Karen is simple and sweet and very good. And I think it is great with ground turkey. I doubled the batch and did half turkey/half beef this time. So whether you have a bunch of little mouths to feed or are lucky enough to live in an area warm enough to still camp, give this sloppy sandwich a try!

Funny, last night I was thinking about how I wanted some Sloppy Joes, even though I haven't eaten them for decades.
haven't had those in a while – looks easy and yummy! Cute pic of Matt!!
How did you cook these while camping? We're going soon.
I am not a sloppy joe fan, and I loved these! They reminded me a sloppier version of meatloaf on a bun. So good. Griff loved them, too. Definitely a keeper recipe.
Just and Kel,
These sloppy joes are great for camping because they're so easy and a nice alternative to a hotdog. We just cook them on a frying pan on our camp stove. Actually, this time I doubled the recipe, which was a little too much for just one frying pan so we just used a flat griddle that covered both burners on the stove instead. It worked great. Hopefully you have a camp stove, I've never tried it over a grill or anything…
I just love the name, Sloppy Joes. It sounds like the last thing you would want to eat, but actually, they are great!
Mmm I think my boys would love thes! Cute picture of Matt:) Give my brother a kiss for me! Wish we could have gone up to the canyon with you and hleped you finish the double batch! Ha ha–we love you!
