I love turkey burgers. I’ve enjoyed making my Southwestern Turkey Burger recipe for years. Yum! So when I saw this new turkey burger recipe in our church cookbook, submitted by my friend Stephanie Ambrus, I was excited to try it out. And it did not disappoint! Hope you enjoy!
Weight Watchers Turkey Burgers
Submitted by Erin ~ thesisterscafe.com
3/4 lb ground turkey
2 shallots (or 2 green onions), finely chopped
1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/3 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
4 strips bacon
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
1 tomato, cut into 4 slices
In a medium bowl, place turkey, shallots, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, pepper, and cheese. Mix very gently with a fork to combine, being careful not to overwork meat. Form into 4 burgers. Cook bacon. Grill burgers and serve on the bun with bacon and tomato. I also like to serve the burgers with slices of sharp cheddar cheese, lettuce, and red onion.
These are five points on Weight Watchers if you use turkey bacon. The original recipe called for it, but I am not a fan of turkey bacon so I had to replace it with the good stuff.
