Texas Sheet Cake

by Melanie on August 11, 2012

When I need a dessert for a large group, I usually make the super good ”Brownies for a Crowd” but last week I tried this Texas Sheet Cake for a party and it was perfect!  Perfectly quick, easy and oh so  D E L I C I O U S!!   Warm, moist and sweet chocolatey goodness!   With always hungry teenage boys hanging around my house, I think I will be making this cake often.  The recipe uses simple ingredients that I usually have on hand, comes together quick and only takes 15 minutes to cook!   Whats not to love about that?!  Trust me this cake will be a huge hit and couldn’t be easier to make!  I highly recommend it!

My Aunt Hazel made this cake for me back in 1967 for a high school graduation party. Not a bite left. I like the buttermilk version, but if you don’t have fresh buttermilk just use buttermilk powder. Mix the powder in with the dry ingredients before adding you liquid. Works great! We love this cake.
