I am getting so excited about Easter this weekend! I am especially excited about Easter Dinner. I have so much fun planning a beautiful table setting, wonderful food and a meaningful scripture devotional. Last year I had a scripture on everyones plate that had a little item to represent the story that we put in the middle of the table. It was a great way to celebrate the Savior and the true meaning of our Easter Celebration! Today I am planning my menu and going shopping to make sure I have everything ready for Sunday.
Here are some ideas for fantastic Easter menu:
We love to have ham for Easter dinner in our family. I usually get a good quality spiral cut ham and I do not usually use any glaze.
I like to keep it simple and just warm it according to the package directions. Do you have a special glaze you like? If so please share!
We do like these recipes for paninis and little sliders with the leftover ham! (so good!!)
Home made rolls are a must at my house. My favorite recipe is this Buttermilk Rolls that you can make the dough up to a week ahead of time and then just bake them the day of.
More roll options are here: Grandmas famous rolls, Parker House rolls, and Lion House rolls
We love this raspberry butter here or honey butter here. I like to shape them like cute little bunnies, you can find the method here.
We always have cheesy Au Gratin (or funeral) potatoes with ham. My boys LOVE them!!
The ones pictured above are my gluten free recipe so there is chex for the topping. Here is a recipe for regular Au Gratin Potatoes. I will post my gluten free recipe soon.
Or if you want to try these French Potato Dauphinoise -they are wonderful!!
Asparagus is in season right now and is perfect for Easter. Here are several recipes to choose from. My favorite it the Balsamic Butter Glazed Asparagus. Yum!
A beautiful green salad is a must! Some of our favorites are here. I haven’t decided which one I am going to make yet!
Coconut is a great option for Easter. We have coconut cake recipes here.
This is my all time favorite dessert for Easter–Strawberry Shortcake with an Almond Glaze. This cake is incredible and so beautiful!
